Hills, skies and more with the Torn Edge Technique

Although the effect looks very painterly, the rolling hills shown here can be easily achieved with a few simple tools. No artistic painting skill required!

Supplies

• Several paintstiks in colors suitable for your project.
• Solid color fabric, or tone-on-tone batiks/hand dyes.
• Standard stencil brushes -- one for each color used. Generally, the larger brushes work best because of faster coverage.
