What's New

Be sure to check out my 2012 show schedule on where to say "hello" and see all my products, including many one-of-kind fabrics, buttons, and hand-dyed cording and ribbons.

New Items

New Stamp

Our latest rubber stamp design resembles handwriting in a foreign language, but is a made-up alphabet with no meaning. Hence, the name "Gobbledegook." The large 5.5" x 8.5" size makes for speedy rubbings and is especially useful for creating yardage.

Gelli Printing Plates

Gelli plates look (and feel) like a slab of 8”x10” gelatin. They have a very sensitive surface which will imprint any texture. This surface makes a better impression than plexiglass or other hard surfaces. Click here to discover how easy it is to make one-of-a-kind prints using the plates, along with textile paints and objects such as stamps, stencils, rubbing plates, etc.

New Garment Pattern

I'm happy to add introduce a new pattern from Fit for Art, a new independent pattern company. If you have struggled with fit issues, this pattern is for you. The Tabula Rasa jacket is designed to flatter all body types, with alternate pattern pieces for women with an AB or CD cup along with flared or straight hip options. An excellent 16 page instruction book (not fold up) begins with information on selecting the best combination of pattern pieces for your body type, planning your garment’s design, making a mock-up to test the fit, adjusting the fit of your garment are provided, followed by clear assembly instructions.

New Handbag Pattern

Basket Bag by Linda Lindsey

Here's a new bag from Square Rose Designs, designed by Linda Lindsay. The Basket Bag facilitates your creative journey into fabric weaving, as shown by my sample in lime green and red. I used gold and leaf green iridescent paintstiks, and the new Doodles rubbing plates on the red fabric to provide additional color and texture. Linda’s pattern offers options for weaving random straight or curved strips, or finished edges. The finished bag has a height of 11" and a base that measures 9" x 14".

New Book

This book features 12 surface design techniques which utilize rubbing plates as a tool for adding texture to fabric, craft and mixed-media projects. Discover rubbings with paintstiks, transfer crayons or water color; embossed metal; paper castings; foiling; deconstructed screen prints; gelatin prints; liquid masks; impressions in clay; and flexible acrylic sculptures.

With plenty of information to inspire your creativity, along with clear instructions accompanied by excellent photographs, you’ll definitely want this book on your “how-to” resource shelf.

New Rubbing Plate

The new Doodles rubbing plate set is a must-have for texture enthusiasts. I had great fun making these samples, because many of them are distinctly different from my other 150 +rubbing plate collection!
