Exotica Quilt Blocks

3 hour workshop

Evoke the exotic designs of ancient Persia while completing a one-of-kind quilt block in class. You’ll have fun while learning how to use paintstiks for stamp rubbings with Laura’s newest stamp set to create curved square shapes, which can be integrated with Tileworks stamps sets for additional amazing
designs. No sewing is required because the shapes are layered and fused to a background fabric square; most students will complete one block in class for later use in quilts, garment embellishment, or home dec.

Tantalizing Tileworks

3 hour workshop

Create unique quilt blocks inspired by Mexican hand painted ceramic tiles using paintstiks, stamps, and fusible web. This is a variation of the Painted Quilt Block
technique which integrates curved shapes with squares. Sewing is not required because painted and layered shapes are fused to a background fabric. Complete a
small block in class that can be integrated into quilt projects, garment embellishments, or home dec.

Painted Block Workshop

3 hour workshop

Using paintstiks, stamps, and fusible web, learn Laura Murray’s “Stackers” technique, which uses layered squares and triangles to create the appearance of intricate detail in traditional quilting block designs. Sewing is not required because the blocks are assembled on a base fabric using fusible web. The Stackers technique is fun, easy to learn and produces amazing results.

StarBuilder Sensations

Half day workshop

Discover how to create sensational no- sew designs with StarBuilder stamps, paintstiks and fusible web. The uniquely shaped stamps can be used to quickly and easily produce seemingly complex kaleidescope stars, and other images such as borders, fish, birds and more. With no need for complicated piecing or precision piecing, anyone can bring the “wow” factor to quilting, clothing or home dec projects.

Paintstik Inspirations

Half day workshop

Using Shiva Artist Paintstiks, learn how to create subtle batik effects on plain fabrics, or produce dramatic prints.  The techniques are fun to learn, and the hands-on approach will give you confidence to make the fabric of your dreams.  Using paintstiks actually saves money, because you can make the “perfect fabric” for your project, which minimizes the stash of unused fabric, and desperate dashes to the fabric store.     Students will create a series of samples illustrating the techniques, and receive many ideas for practical applications from the instructor.
